Costume Guide
Our games are set in the years after the zombie virus outbreak of 2025. This means that technology and fashion effectively stopped evolving in the year 2025.
Your character can wear anything from the modern era, or even some older vintage pieces. Please bear in mind that the years since the outbreak have been physically demanding, and so nothing should appear shiny and new. You might have a treasured Iron Maiden t-shirt that you wear for special occasions, but it probably has at least one patch!
Costume specifics will vary depending on the game and the characters portrayed.
The Crofters
These characters live in the Croft; a self-sufficient community struggling to survive in the Scottish wilderness. Crofters depend on each other to survive, and value every member of their community.
Clothing and accessories are hard-wearing and much-mended. Chunky knit jumpers with darned elbows, patched knees on jeans, faded wax jackets, work boots.
The overall aesthetic might be described as post-apocalyptic cottage core!

The
walkers
These characters have been on the road for years; scavenging what they can find before moving on. Groups merge and allegiances change, but Walkers always look out for themselves above all.
Clothing and accessories could to be military or hiking clothes, supplemented by items scavenged from abandoned towns and villages. Think hard-wearing battered combat trousers, biker armour, army boots, camouflage and drab colours. Everything is dirty after days of hiking through the wilderness.
Walkers are likely to carry a 'go' bag at all times, ready to pick up and leave at a moment's notice.

The Volunteers
These characters live in the periphery of an Army Evacuation Camp. The camps were intended to be a temporary measure, but when the army failed to purge the zombie infestation they ended up being permanent refuges for those lucky enough to reach them before the gates were closed.
Volunteers wear army cast-offs mixed with scavenged items. Nothing will look new- think heavily patched combat trousers, jackets with mis-matched arms, scavenged sweaters with bullet holes still evident.
The only source of new clothing is the cast-offs coming from deeper in the Evacuation Camp where the real soldiers live. The overall aesthetic is of people trying their best with what they are given- which is not much
